Legg Mason Wood Walker
Business Analyst III / IT Project Manager
December 2003 to March 2005
I had such a rewarding internship with Legg that I wanted to work there again and was
fortunate to do so.
I was hired as a Business Analyst I to primarily represent Operations on some software project
teams that were working on placing .NET interfaces in front of legacy applications. This primarily
involved requirements analysis and project management. In less than a year I was promoted to Business
Analyst III (the highest level)--a process that normally takes two to three years.
During this same time I was asked to audit all information systems in the company for compliance
with SEC Reg. 240-17a(3) and became one of the internal subject matter experts on this regulation.
Eventually I was asked to work on a small internal consulting team that created custom applications
to automate and streamline workflows for several Operations divisions. During this period I would
typically manage approximately seven to ten such projects simultaneously in addition to the .NET projects
mentioned above.
